Community Engagement Programme: Perkampungan Orang Asli Pos Buntu

Year 3 students together with a few lecturers visited Perkampungan Orang Asli Pos Buntu in Raub, Pahang on the 24th May 2014. The one-day programme is a part of community engagement programmes conducted by the dental students with the aims of getting to know the less fortunate people and promote oral health among the villagers.  

Dental check-ups, colouring competition for kids under the age of 6 and tele matches were conducted throughout the programme. As a contribution to the villagers, a mini library was set up in the community centre. 



On 30th March 2014, Unit Kecemerlangan Sukan Dan Riadah Dental Students Club, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia had organized Dr. Haslinda Bowling Tournament 2014. This tournament was held at Kuala Lumpur Megalanes Endah Parade. There were 28 participants who participated in this tournament involving first year students until third year students and also Dr. Haslinda. The objectives of this tournament are to improve the self-softskills in each participants, to increase the level of patience, collaboration, understanding, tolerance and cooperation among the committee members and participants, and lastly is aiming to develop the preciseness and strength of the hands of participants to serve as ten-fingered dentists.


The day of 8thDecember 2013 will forever be etched in the minds of 48 participants who attended the Faculty of Dentistry Archery Workshop 2013 organized by Unit KecemerlanganSukandanRiadah DSC. The one day workshop was held at KompleksSukanTunkuNajihah, UniversitiSains Islam Malaysia, Nilai, Negeri Sembilan. The objectives of the archery workshop were to foster problem-solving and critical thinking skills when working under pressureand develop preciseness using hands which can be useful in clinical years. The specialty of this workshop is eventhough it was only a one day workshop,it also included theory, practical and competition.
