USIM Faculty of Dentistry Successfully Hosts ICoFD 2026
NILAI, August 9, 2026 – The Faculty of Dentistry at Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) successfully organized the International Conference of Fiqh Dentistry 2026 (ICoFD 2026) from August 8 to 9, drawing nearly 300 local and international participants.
The two-day conference brought together academics, dental practitioners, researchers, students, and enthusiasts in dentistry and Fiqh. Highlights of the event included:

Expert Insights: 10 local and international speakers shared valuable knowledge on Fiqh dentistry, clinical practices, professional ethics, dental technology, and Shariah perspectives in modern treatment.

International Collaboration: An eight-member Indonesian delegation—featuring scholars from Universitas Airlangga, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), and IIKA Indonesia—attended, further strengthening academic networks between Malaysia and Indonesia.

Research Showcase: Oral and Poster Presentation competitions provided a platform for researchers to present findings on oral health and Islamic perspectives.
The event was made possible through the efforts of a 60-member organizing committee of USIM staff and students, alongside support from eight corporate sponsors.

Collaborative visit to China | 2026
From 26th–30th April, Fakulti Pergigian USIM embarked on a meaningful academic and research collaboration visit to Upcera in Shenyang, China. The program featured an in-depth tour of Upcera’s advanced research centre, as well as its R&D facilities and manufacturing factory, offering valuable insights into cutting-edge dental materials innovation and production processes. The delegation also visited China Medical University (CMU) to strengthen academic ties and explore potential collaborative opportunities in dental education and research. This visit marks a significant step toward fostering international partnerships, knowledge exchange, and future joint initiatives between institutions.
MoU signing, India | 2026
From 9-12th of February, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) and Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute (Chennai) established a strategic partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster academic collaboration and international cooperation.
This MoU aims to enhance international relations, research, and exchange programs between the Malaysian and Indian institutions. This collaboration reinforces global academic engagement through students and faculty exchange joint research initiatives and international partnerships in health science and dentistry
