The Faculty of Dentistry is the eighth faculty established in USIM and has received the approval of the establishment from the Ministry of Higher Education through the letter JPT (A) 1000/010 / 02.Jld2 (62) dated 15 June 2006. It was officially established when the Founding Dean reported to duty on 2 October 2006. The faculty is located at Menara B, Persiaran MPAJ, Pandan Indah, located about 10 km from Kuala Lumpur City Centre. The Faculty of Dentistry which comprises level 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18 which are renovated to accommodate facilities specifically for the programmes offered at the Faculty of Dentistry. A pioneer group of 29 students was enrolled in July 2007. These students are selected from the Tamhidi (Yayasan / Matriculation) program at USIM.  The role of the Faculty of Dentistry covers four main areas including teaching and learning, research and publication, dental treatment services and community service. To date, the Faculty of Dentistry USIM only conducts one (1) Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) program which is five (5) years long. Successful candidates will be awarded BDS (USIM).

The Bachelor of Dental Surgery Programme at the Faculty of Dentistry strives to produced graduates who are qualified for safe and independent practice in dentistry as well as infused with Islamic values. The programme is developed based on integration of naqli (revealed) and aqli (acquired) knowledge that forms the philosophical thrust of the Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia. The programme was conferred full accreditation for a period of five years from 15 April 2020 to 15 April 2025 by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).

The programme information provides an overall perspective of the Bachelor of Dental Surgery programme conducted at the Faculty of Dentistry. The format is in accordance to the requirement of the MQA based on Guidelines To Curriculum Review Bachelor Of Dental Surgery Or Equivalent Section VIII document.
